Mayflower II

We went to the Mayflower II after Plimoth Plantation.  They actually sailed this ship from Plymouth, England to Plymouth, MA in 1957. 

Where they slept.  He said there were up to 100 people all down there traveling together.

Then we headed down to what they believe to be Plymouth Rock.

Again, lots of fun with learning and being with family!

Plimoth Plantation

Tuesday we went to Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, MA for a field trip.  We are currently studying about the Indians, Pilgrims, Mayflower, Columbus and such in history.  This place is only about an hour and a half from our home, so we took the girls.  We had a great day and it was soooo cool to see everything there.  They have people who are in the villages and on the Mayflower II who role play just like back in the day.  You can ask questions and they answer everything.  We spent 4 hours there and it was just a great day of learning and being together.

These boats are what the Native people traveled in.  He said if he worked constantly it would take 4 to 5 days to finish making the boat.  He said they made it to fit up to 40 men.  He also said they last about 10-15 years.

After lunch in their cafeteria, which was really good, we made our way to the English Village.  They had lots of their places where they lived with different people role playing cooking, working, and living in the area answering questions and such.  It was also very cool.

When we first went into this building we thought it was the church and that was the pulpit.  It had an upstairs with canons and when we were up there, Kyndal said this must be their fellowship hall.  Craig and I started cracking up.  As we were leaving we heard the guy say it was the meeting hall.

Then we went into the craft building where people actually make the clothes for the role players to wear and the pottery they use, and wood work.  It was really cool to see it all and see some of them working on things.

She said there were only 2 of them that made clothes for all of the people.  Lots of hard work.



Very thankful to have this place near by for our family to experience.

Celebrating...

Abby's 9th birthday was lots of fun.  She also got to pick out what we had for breakfast and dinner.  We went on a field trip Tuesday which is when we celebrated her birthday so that we could have the whole day with her.  She couldn't really pick out our lunch, but it was good any how!  She wanted to have sunny side up eggs, pancakes, and turkey bacon for breakfast.

We went to the Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, MA for a field trip and to spend the day together as a family celebrating Abby.

She chose Mexican hamburger helper and corn for supper.

She wanted a chocolate cake for her birthday with pink decorations.

I tried getting a picture of her blowing out her candles, but she was too fast and my camera was too slow!

More money to go shopping with!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Abby's birthday and hope to celebrate many, many more with her!

Abby's 9th Birthday

It's our big "littles" birthday today.  Wow, it's hard to believe I gave birth to our first baby 9 years ago.  Abby you are a precious child with a very loving and compassionate heart.  We love you SO SO SO very much.

Weekend Happenings

Friday, it was a really rainy day.  I mean it rained from the time we got up to the time we went to bed.  After school, Abby and Kyndal went to one of their friends house for the afternoon.  Craig, myself, and AC ran some errands and went to do some work at the church. 

That evening we went to some friends house for dinner and had a really good time.  They have 2 small kids, and when they are all together they have a blast with lots of noise.

Saturday I went to a Ladies Conference in MA with 7 other ladies from the church.  It was an all day thing.  We had to leave super early, but we had a really good day.  Craig stayed home with the girls.  They were going to go to a fair in town, but it was still raining Sat. morning, so they hung out at the house.  I got home about 7:30 pm and Craig had cooked them dinner and had them ready for bed.  It was such a nice day.  I have some pictures of the conference, but they are poor quality.

They had 2 breakout sessions where you could choose from 10 different classes.  They lasted about an hour and 15 minutes.  The first one I chose was for pastor's wives.  This was an awesome class for me and well worth the trip there.  This lady was such an encouragement to me.

The 2nd session I went to was about eating more healthy.  It was very informative as well.

Sunday, Craig had a meeting after church and the big girls stayed with him to play with friends.  AC and I came home.  Anna Claire was so very ill that day.  I don't know if she is cutting more teeth or she just wasn't feeling well, but wow she sure was whiney.  We chilled the rest of the day which was so nice.

Monday I took the girls shopping with some of their birthday money they've gotten.  They racked up and we had a good time together.
