Old Home Day's 5K

Last Saturday I ran another 5K.  This was the one I signed up for originally, but Craig encouraged me to do the one in July as well.  I'm glad I did.  With more training under my belt, I finished this race 5 minutes faster than the last.  I was very proud.  My goal was to run without stopping, but I did take a 2 minute walking break on the longest hill ever.

This race was easier for me, because there were only 2 hills, however they were long hills.  The weather was absolutely wonderful, and I had some encouraging music to listen to as I ran.

I'm thinking about signing up for another one in October.  We will see!

Before the race!

Here we go...

Date with a cutie!

Yesterday Craig and the big girls went out for a couple of hours so when Anna Claire woke up from her nap, she and I went out.  We walked to Dunkin Donuts and then went to the park for a while.  We had a good time.  It was a beautiful day and it felt great outside, like I had my windows opened all day kind of good:)

On our way

She said she wanted a "chocet" donut!  She also said "thank you mommy for my donut".

After 5 bites, she said "I'm done, thow this away and let's go to da park".  Ok, when did you become the boss little missy!!!!

Swing me high momma

Good thing I was standing there, because her leg got stuck and she almost flipped forward.

We had a fun time together.  Wow watching 1 kid is absolutely so easy:)

United Block Party

A church in our community has done a block party here in town for the past 7 years.  This year they invited several other churches in the area to join in with them.  I believe 7 churches participated.  It was extremely organized and very well put together.  It was really a great event, and it was a real pleasure to serve along side so many other believers to reach out to our community.  Thousands came out and some were saved.  What a blessing!

Oh and the day before it rained the ENTIRE day, however Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day.  God is so good!

Going through the Kids Zone, where they taught about creation day by day.  It was really cool.

Little Cutie:)

Big Cutie:)

Middle Cutie:)

Big Thanks to a sweet young lady and friend from church who watched the girls while Craig and I served:):):)

Girl fun & Total sweetness

Sunday, I told the girls to get their spend the nights out of the way in the next two weeks, since we are starting school on the 20th.  They said Oh, can we have a few friends over!!!  I said, sure why not.  So on Tuesday, they had 3 friends spend the night and had a blast.

They said this was their spa.  I think Abby and Sarah were doing all the work.

Unfortunately this was the only time I took my camera out.  One of their friends didn't get here until later that evening after her ball game, so I didn't get any pics of her:(

Abby took these!

These two have so much fun together:)

I tell Anna Claire every night to stay in her own bed.  She always says, ok!  However a lot of nights when I go to check on them, she is in Abby's bed.  So the other night I found them like this...

That's Abby's arm under AC's neck.  Sweetest thing ever:)

It's been a year

We arrived in NH a year ago this past Sunday!  This year has really gone by quickly.  It has been a really great year too.  The trip here is one I will NEVER forget.  It was very loooong and ended with me being super duper sick.  However, we made it safe and sound, and that was a blessing.

We really love our church family and they have welcomed us with open arms.  We have made lots of friends, and O, what a blessing that is.  I prayed before we ever knew we were going anywhere new that the Lord would bless us with some wonderful friends, and He has so done that.  I am forever grateful.  I prayed that not only would we minister to people, but that our family would also be ministered to.  And He has truly answered my prayers.

Ministry is no walk in the park, but this past year has been a real breath of fresh air.

Our girls really like living here, and those are their words shared several times without being asked or prompted.

The only negative about living here so far, is that ALL of our family live 1200 miles/20 hours away from us.  Some days that is very difficult to think about.

I literally have gotten asked every day that I've been out and still do, "where are you from", e.v.e.r.y.d.a.y!!!!  I'm thinking of taping a note on my forehead that says I'm from Alabama, no need to ask!!!  People often have a hard time understanding me too.

The culture here is obviously very different than the south.  A few things that stick out to me are:

- In the south when asked, "Can I get something for you", we say "No thanks, I'm good".  Here it's "Nope, I'm all set".

- An adjective that is used a lot here is wicked.  Like someone saying "That's wicked cool".  I haven't said it yet.  I say I never will:)

- Most kids in the south are raised to say, "Ma'am and Sir".  Not here.  I'm not used to that, but we still make our kids say it and will continue too.

- A lot of adults here like to be called by their last name, like "Mrs. Little".  In the south, we call adults by their first names, like "Mrs. Allison".  Also something else I'm not use too.  I prefer not to be called by my last name, but it doesn't bother me, b/c that's what they are use too.  I will admit though I don't make my kids call people by their last names, unless they ask us too, b/c we are not use to that.

- In the south, so many people go to church. Lots of people go b/c it's just the thing to do or they were raised too.  Here a lot of people don't go to church and most that do is b/c they want to grow in their relationship with Jesus.

The weather here is really great.  You get to experience all four seasons, which is really cool and very pretty.  Yes, the winter will still take some getting use to.

I love where we live, I love the town, I love our church.

The Lord is working and moving and I pray He will continue to use us in this ministry for His Glory and Honor, and thank Him for the privilege to be a part of it all.

A beautiful day at the beach

We went to Pine Point Beach in Maine on Saturday.  Thankfully Anna Claire was feeling much better and we couldn't have asked for a better day.  It was a bit cloudy when we headed out and got there, but after about an hour, the sun started shining and it was just beautiful.  It was about 80 degrees and a constant wind.  Once we left that afternoon, it was pretty windy, but it felt great.

She said "Dad why are you laying down"!

Abby stayed on that boogie board the whole time we were there.  She loved it!

Grandmother, this is for you, so you will know I was there too:):):)

They dug themselves a whole and sat there to eat their lunches!
Abby, Amanda, Chevy, and Kyndal

Enjoying her lunch!

Riding the waves

Craig and Sean waiting for a good wave!

We finished this beach day with ice cream instead of hot chocolate:)

Weekend Recap

Anna Claire got sick Thursday afternoon.  Her fever got as high as 103.5.  Scary!  She was sick all day Friday too.  We were suppose to go to a baseball game Fri. night, so Craig and the big girls went while me and Anna Claire stayed home.  This pic was Abby and Kyndal playing a game with AC on the couch.

Heading out the door to the baseball game!

She had some medicine and felt good for a moment and wanted me to take her picture too.

Saturday, we did this!

Before church on Sunday!

I tried to take a face pic of all of us together, but our heads were too big and my arm wouldn't reach far enough, so we did it individually:)
