Around here

Since we only get about 2 months of nice summer weather, it gets pretty packed, pretty fast.  I think we have had something to do every weekend for the past 5-6 weeks and have something every weekend for the whole month of August.  However I enjoy being busy, so it's good!

O, and Bama football begins August 31.  We are excited!

Our VBS week was the hottest week ever.  It was in the low 100s.

Last week was rather cool, like in the 70s.  It's nice so far this week too.

The big girls are doing a summer reading program through the local library, so we make weekly visits to the library, and like to walk there when the weather permits.  They have until Aug 9th to finish.  Abby has about 25 hours left of reading and Kyndal has about 35 more books left to read.  They are doing 100 books, and 50 hours.  They have done very well so far.

We have made several new friends through evangelism and that's really exciting.

We don't start school until the day after Labor Day, but I have lots of things to get in order before then.  They are doing co-op this year, so that's exciting too.

Craig and I had a friendly competition this past Sunday.  I told him Saturday that I could beat him in a mile run.  Then I changed it to two thinking he would get worn out before me, since he hasn't been running.  So we decided to race.  He beat me!!!  He actually let me win, but he could have beaten me by 5 minutes at least.  It was lots of fun though and some of our friends came and walked while we ran.  I did increase my mile time by over a minute since the 7/5 5K though, so that was good.

The next 5K is on Aug. 17, so I'm looking forward to that.

The girls last race is this Thursday night.  I've got to find something else to get them involved in in the fall.  I have a few things I'm looking into!

Next week, we will have been here in NH for a year.  It has actually gone by pretty fast.  I will do a year post next week!!

We are having special visitors coming in Sept and Oct, and I'm really looking forward to that.  Our big girls will also be 8 and 10 in Sept and Oct.  Wow now that time has gone by fast.  Hard to believe and honestly I don't think about it very often at all, that in 10 more short years, we will have a 20 year old.  That's INSANE!

Have a happy week:)

Sisters

I've said several times before that I'm so glad we have all girls.  I love that they are friends, and pray their friendships keep growing as they grow.  Sister bonds are super special.

We walked to the library the other day and on the way back, I really liked the flowers here and wanted to take their picture!!!!

When I was doing Kyndal's hair the other day, Anna Claire said "I want my hair like Kyndal's".  I couldn't do it just like Kyndal's but she was satisfied with this:)  I don't know why she is sticking her tongue out, but she thought it was funny!

When I put them to bed, they were all in their own beds.  When I went to check on them before I went to bed, they were all in Kyndal's bed.  I had to go get my camera:):):)  Love these 3 sweet girls to the moon and back!

Cute hair

A few days ago Kyndal got her hair trimmed and Jenn, out hair stylist, braided her hair when she was done.  She does the neatest braids to their hair.  In ways I could never repeat.  It looked so super cute.

A day at the beach

A while back we had planned to go to the beach yesterday with some friends.  I checked the weather and it said it was gonna be cloudy, but no rain, so we kept the plans.  When we got up Thursday morning, it was a bit cool outside, so we knew it would be a little cooler at the beach.  Wowzers, it was cooolllllddddd.  It was freezing for this Bama blooded girl:)  We did have a really good time despite being cold.  The kids had an absolute blast and didn't want to leave.  It was a great day with great friends!

Testing out the water, which wasn't too cold surprisingly.  The lifeguard made them get out though, because an accident had happened close by, so you had to go down further to get in.  They actually never got back in.

The waves were really big.  That's where the accident had occurred.

They did lots of playing in the sand.  So glad Anna Claire finally likes the sand.  However she does not like it to get on her shoes!!!!

Trying to bury Kyndal in the sand!

Trying to get warm!

The lifeguard had on a hoodie and a jacket!

Their finished sand castle!

Hot chocolate in July!!!!!!!!!!!  Say whattttt:)  It was so needed, thanks Jenn!

Running

The girls ran again last Thursday and did a great job and had fun in the process.  Anna Claire joined in on the fun this time.  I had to run with her so I didn't get any pictures of her while she was running.  We plan to work with them this week to help increase their time for their future runs.

VBS week (Part 2)

Trying to fill the other bucket full of water using only a sponge.  It made the floor slippery, so there were a few falls in the process.

Water Day!  We filled about 1500 water balloons!

Family Night

Some of the kids sang 3 of the songs they learned for their parents.

I asked her if she wanted to slide down the big slide and she said "Nope" and sat on the ground!

Kyndal

Enjoying a popsicle!

A bunch of the kids and several adults had a great kick ball game after dinner.  It was lots of fun:)  Great way to end a great week!

VBS week (Part 1)

I have a lot of pictures so I thought I would do it in two parts.  We had a great week at VBS this year.  We had one child make a profession of faith which is AWEsome.  We had a great group of kids and a great group of leaders.  It was a real blessing to be a part of it all.

They were digging marshmallows out of cool whip to see who got the most!

A member of our church made this coaster cart and put wheels on it so the kids were able to ride in it.  It was a HUGE hit:)

They even made out a track with sidewalk chalk around the parking lot!

Trying to blow a ping pong ball from one cup full of water to the other cup full of water.  It was funny and only 2 of the kids were able to do it!  It's a lot harder than it looks.

Day

It was a super hot week!

They were pushing a cherry on top of cool whip down the table with their nose!
