First couple of days of summer

Yesterday the girls played inside and out, did some painting, and of course our family walk on the trail.  By the way, the girls (A & K) REALLY don't like the walk on the trail!!!  Anna Claire likes it, but who wouldn't riding in a stroller.  We walk 2 miles everyday, except for Wednesdays and Sundays.  We do wait until about 7pm so that it's not quite as hot, but they still don't like it.  Oh well, who likes to exercise?!?!  Today we spent the morning at the Library.  Abby signed up for the summer reading program, she has to read at least 25 books by July 29th.  They also have story time every Friday morning, so we will probably be regular attenders for this.  In the month of June, on Thursday afternoons, they have a program that LOTS of kids come to and love.  We will also be attending these.  Abby and Kyndal both really enjoy them.

There are a couple of people in the church with pools and we will be frequently visiting them this summer, I'm just giving it a little more time for the water to not be so cool.  I also still have to get a bathing suit for me (not looking forward to that) and Anna Claire.

They love to paint!

Abby and Kyndal still ask to hold her everyday.  Anna Claire doesn't really enjoy it for very long, but we still give it a shot.  Anna Claire is almost as big as Kyndal!!!

Abby reading to Kyndal (not sure how much Kyndal listens, but she does ask Abby to read to her)!

Abby's last day of 1st grade and Honors day

Today was Abby's last day as a first grader.  It was also Honors day.  Abby received an award for having all A's for this past nine weeks, and she also received a Prinicipal award for having all A's all year.  She tries really hard and is pretty determined to do well.  I hope she will maintain that attitude and drive.  She did shed some tears when leaving school, because she said she was going to miss her teacher.  She had a wonderful teacher this year and we are so grateful.  I ask her was she glad it was summer and she said "I am, but I'm going to miss Mrs. Annette".  Bless her heart, I felt so bad for her, but I'm sure she will be just fine and have a fun summer!!!

Last day of 1st grade!

Getting her award from her teacher, Mrs. Annette!

Getting her award from the principal, Mrs. Kline!

Chilling before the program (that darn flash)!

She was getting restless, so we were trying any form of entertainment (that darn flash again)!!!

Weekend

Friday night we had a fish fry at some friends house.  It was good and fun.  Friday was a long day, so the girls were really tired when we got home.  Saturday after breakfast we took a family walk on the trail at 9am, and it was sooooo HOT.  By the way, I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday (go me)!!  We didn't do much else that day but just hang around the house and play outside.  Sunday afternoon, we had our annual church picnic, it was at a new place this year, which was very nice.  It was hot and there were LOTS of gnats (I really despise gnats), but we had a good time.

They were making their own individual bags of homemade ice cream (pretty neat)!

Sunday night after getting all cleaned up and ready for bed, Anna Claire was playing in the floor with her toys, and scooted herself into her toy basket as you can see.  She got upset for a minute and when I saw her, I had to get the camera, it was too funny not to take a pic.  When I was taking her picture she got really upset, I don't think she found it as amusing as I did!!!

This morning, I went to the kitchen for about 1 minute to rinse out a sippy cup and when I walked back into the living room I didn't see Anna Claire anywhere, which always makes your heart seem to skip a beat or two.  So, I'm looking around and this is where I found her:

Under the table!  She did think that was cute!!!  She doesn't really crawl (although she does a little) or walk but she gets to what she wants, and rather quickly too.  Her favorite thing to do is while sitting up, let herself fall backwards, roll over, sit back up, and do it all over again.  I watched her do that last night at least 10 times.  I tell her no,no, because one day there is going to be something behind her when she falls back and it's going to hurt.  Hopefully she will find something more fun and less dangerous to do soon!

Field Day @ PCS

Today was Kyndal's last day of 4K and to be at Parkview (very bitter-sweet).  Today was also Field Day for the 1st-12th grades.  They had all sorts of fun games to play, a water slide and a dry bouncy slide, hotdogs, & shaved ice.  When I picked up Kyndal and we ate some lunch, we went back to the school to have some fun with Abby's class.  It was time for the water slide and they let Kyndal participate, so that was lots of fun for both of them.  After the water slide I had to take Kyndal home to change, because I didn't know she would be playing on it so I didn't pack her anymore clothes.  Once she changed, we headed back to the school to play on the dry slide, which was also lots of fun for them.  It was hot outside so I was ready to leave (Kyndal was not, but oh well this momma said lets go)!!!  Anna Claire had lots of fun just watching.  We have a cook out tonight at someones house, as we did last night too!!  I love when I don't have to cook (hehe).  So I'm sure once we get home tonight and have a bath, our kids will be asleep in no time.  So here are the pics from a day full of fun.

Her last morning to go to 4K at Parkview (tear)

Just watching (so content)

Kyndal didn't have a towel so Abby wrapped her up in hers with her!!!

Love these girls, and of course Anna Claire too!  Abby and Kyndal both had Wonderful teachers this year and we are so grateful for them both!

Fresh from the Garden

There are some very kind people here who brought us fresh from the garden, zuccuni, yellow squash, new potatoes, and cucumbers.  So last night I made a veggie dinner.  We had sauteed yellow squash and zuccuni, roasted new potatoes, and black eye peas.  I was looking forward to cooking that all day.  And, it did not dissappoint.  It was sooooo good.  We all went back for seconds.  While I cooked, Abby and Kyndal played in the back yard, and Anna Claire was napping.

After dinner, the wind was blowing pretty good but not as much as yesterday.  So the girls wanted to fly kites with daddy.  They had fun, but the wind wasn't really blowing good enough for their kites to stay in the air for very long.  Kyndal came in pouting about that!!!  Anna Claire had a ball watching them.  Then we went for a family walk/run on the trail which was really nice.

Kyndal is finished with school this Friday and Abby will be done next Wednesday, then it's summer time!!! YEAH!!!

Abby and Kyndal woke her up when they went in to get their shoes, so when I finally went to get her, she was up playing with that toy!  She can get from a laying position to a sitting position and vice versa, but she won't crawl or walk!!!!  They were/are all 3 soooo different!!

She is watching them fly their kites!

This morning, they got up a few minutes before I did and when I walked into the living room, they were dressed and Abby was reading her science book to Kyndal!  Precious moments!!!

Weekend

Friday night we had our movie night which was fun and the girls really enjoyed the movie.  Saturday, after having breakfast we went for a family walk on the trail.  The weather was very nice.  The girls and I cleaned the house that afternoon while Craig went to the Alabama/Auburn baseball games with someone from church.  I also took the girls to a fun day here in town where they had some bounce houses.  Of course, they really enjoyed that and one of their friends was there too.  It wasn't too hot outside and it was very windy.  Sunday was a bit of a long day, but good.  After service we had a luncheon which was very good.  Between church, I went for another walk on the trail with a friend, while Abby and Kyndal played and Anna Claire took a much needed nap.  Sunday's are really long for her, but she is such a trooper.  Abby and Kyndal had Gracious Girls at 4:30 and Craig and I had a VBS meeting.  Then I had choir practice before evening service.  After church on Sunday nights gets busy because I have to hurry and feed all 3 girls and get them into bed at a decent hour since we are still in school.  All in all we had a pretty good weekend, I hope you all did too!

This was what she was doing during the movie night, we were cracking up!

They wanted to make their own lunch on Saturday, so they did!
(Kyndal's hair is always in her face if I don't put it up, it doesn't seem to bother her a bit, but it drives me crazy!)

That hairbow never stays in her hair very long!!!!

Off to church we go!

Another milestone

I tried switching Anna Claire to a cup at 9 months just like I did with Abby and Kyndal.  Abby and Kyndal did pretty well with the change.  However, Anna Claire wanted NO part of it.  So I thought well I will just keep trying with time.  So this morning I pulled out the cup and she wasn't happy about it, but she drank the WHOLE thing.  Yahoo!!!  I am determined not to have a 12 month old drinking from a bottle.

I am also determined to lose some weight, so after dropping off Abby and Kyndal at school, Anna Claire and I headed to the walking trail.  They actually have a really nice trail here where much of it over looks the water.  We walked 1.5 miles.  Just got to keep it up.  When she rides in the stroller she kicks one or both of her legs up on the tray in front of her.  It is so funny.  I wish I would have had my camera with me to take a picture, but I didn't.  People that walk past us always laugh.

Tonight we are having family movie night and we always let the girls pick out the movie.  They picked out Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure.  She was a character in the High School Musical movies and the girls love those movies.

O, and yesterday afternoon, Abby and Kyndal were playing in their room and Anna Claire loves to watch them, so I put her in there with them while I ran to the store.  Craig was here with them!!!  When I came back she was still sitting in the floor watching them.  She is really into pointing now, so she points at everyone, it's really cute.

They were sorting through their hairbow baskets!

She is watching their every move!

Then I walked in the room, she got excited (love it) and had to point at me!!!

1st grade Chapel

Abby's 1st grade class led their weekly chapel today.  They sang a couple of songs and had a skit.  They all did a really good job.  I really like Parkview alot.  Abby does a good job of speaking her parts loudly in front of alot of people.  Sorry the pics look dark, my camera always does that in there.

This is what Anna Claire thought about the event!! (hehe)

11 months

Anna Claire is 11 months old today.  Can you believe in 1 month she will be 1 year old????  Wow, how time goes by so quickly.  She is just now starting to get on her knees to try and crawl.  However, she can get to what she wants in other ways.  She has only been able to be on the floor for about 6-8 weeks, b/c we had the cement floors.  She is such a good baby, so easy going!  She weighs about 19 1/2 pounds.

Abby and Kyndal ready for Gracious Girls

They love to make dirt pies and such!!!

They were singing their ABC's so LOUDLY to Anna Claire and she was loving it!  Love these girls to pieces.
